JP Bridge
Terms of Enrollment
The school. JP Bridge is operated by 1610959 B.C. Ltd. We run online and in-person Japanese courses — group classes and private lessons. Our courses follow JLPT standards. JP Bridge is an independent school and is not affiliated with the JLPT.
Billing. Tuition is billed monthly on the 1st of each month. The monthly price covers 4 weeks of lessons — for example, In-Person Group at CA$160/month covers 4 weekly lessons, and a 5th lesson in longer months is free. Prices are shown before tax; 5% GST is added to every bill.
Mid-month signups. If you sign up after the 1st, your first payment covers only the remaining lessons this month, charged per lesson. From the 1st of next month you pay the full monthly price.
Free first class (in person). New students in an in-person group get their first class free, and can cancel anytime (Manage or cancel on your account page, or email miyu@jpbridge.ca). You save a card when you sign up. Six days after your free class you're billed for the balance of that month, per lesson, then the monthly price on the 1st. Cancel before then and you pay nothing. The exact date and amount are shown when you sign up and in your welcome email, and we email you a reminder two days before.
Your seat. Tuition reserves your seat in the class. In group classes, a missed or cancelled lesson is not refunded and not credited, whether you miss a class or tell us in advance; we give you catch-up materials for that week. Private and semi-private lessons follow the lesson policy below (make-ups, longer absences and seat holds).

Your weekly online class time slot is reserved exclusively for you.
Make-up Lessons
Notify us at least 24 hours in advance. 1 make-up per month, max 2 per month.
- 1 make-up lesson per month — free of charge
- 2nd make-up onward — +$10 per lesson (by arrangement)
Extended Personal Absence
Reduced tuition applies — no make-up lesson. Classes are held 3–4 times per month depending on the calendar.
- 1 week off → 80% of monthly tuition
- 2 weeks off → 60% of monthly tuition
- 3+ weeks off → 40% of monthly tuition
Seat Hold
- Seat held at 40% of monthly tuition per month.
- Your seat can be held for up to 3 months.
- Advance notice required before your monthly payment deadline.
Same-day cancellations or no-shows are not eligible for make-up or reduction. The lesson is forfeited, as your seat was reserved.
Group Class
Absence
- If you miss a group class, we provide catch-up materials for independent study. Class recordings are not shared.
Cancellation. You may cancel any time from your account page (Manage or cancel), or by emailing miyu@jpbridge.ca. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — your access continues until then. There are no partial-month refunds.
If we cancel. If JP Bridge cancels a class you paid for, you are refunded for the sessions that don't run.
In-person classes. In-person group classes meet at 320 Granville St, Vancouver. Each class has 8–10 students.
