We're looking for Japanese teachers who love conversation-based teaching, in Japan or in Vancouver.
In-person Japanese instructor
Vancouver, BC · Weekdays from 4 PM · weekends · Freelance / contract
Teach in-person classes in downtown Vancouver. Ideal for instructors living in Greater Vancouver who are free on weekday evenings or weekends.
Requirements (one of these)
- Bachelor's degree or higher, plus a 420-hour Japanese Language Teacher Training Course
- Passed the Japanese Language Teaching Competency Test (日本語教育能力検定試験)
- University or graduate degree with a major or minor in Japanese Language Education
- Registered Japanese Language Teacher (登録日本語教員)
Preferred
- 1–2 years of Japanese teaching experience at a school, in Japan or abroad
- Intermediate English or higher, enough to explain things to students
- Comfortable with online teaching tools (Google Meet, Google Workspace)
Pay is based on experience and qualifications. Training and regular teacher meetings are provided.
