Our Method

How We Teach.

A four-step approach that builds grammar knowledge and speaking confidence simultaneously.

Step 01

Illustrations, photos, and diagrams make meaning intuitive. No more relying on text alone — new concepts stick naturally.

Step 02

JLPT Grammar

Step 03

Spoken Output

Practice using what you've learned through role-play and structured Q&A. Speaking opportunities are built into every lesson.

Step 04

Targeted Feedback

Pronunciation, grammar, and expression errors are corrected with care. Specific feedback keeps motivation high and progress visible.

Miyu

Founder & Lead Instructor · JP Bridge

Miyu has taught Japanese at language schools in both Japan and Canada, and later went independent to build something better.

Over the years, she noticed a troubling pattern: students who had studied hard, passed the JLPT, and yet couldn't hold a simple conversation. The problem wasn't the students — it was the method. Grammar-only teaching produces grammar-only results.

That realization led her to found JP Bridge — a school built around a simple idea: you should be able to do both. Learn the grammar. Speak the language. At the same time.

Teaching Experience in Japan & Canada

Q1

Before & After — What has changed the most?

A

Even though I'm still in the process of learning, I already feel a significant improvement in my Japanese. During my trip to Japan, I was able to communicate entirely in Japanese at restaurants—and even handle unexpected situations. For example, I once left my bag at a store and didn't realize it until I got back to my hotel. The next day, I went back and explained the situation in Japanese. The staff didn't speak English, but I was able to resolve everything and got all my belongings back safely. That experience really showed me how useful it is to be able to use Japanese in real-life situations.

Q2

What was your level before starting the class, and what challenges did you face?

A

Before joining this school, I only knew hiragana, katakana, some basic vocabulary, and a bit of N5 grammar. I had been studying on my own for a few years, but I didn't feel like I was making real progress. I also didn't have anyone to practice speaking with, so I eventually became discouraged studying alone.

Q3

Why did you choose this class, and what has kept you motivated to continue?

A

This class is very active and focused on output. During speaking practice, I always receive immediate feedback, which is something I never experienced with textbook-based classes or self-study. The learning process here is completely different from traditional grammar-focused study, and I really trust the way this school teaches. That's what has kept me motivated to continue.

Q4

What is the class atmosphere like?

A

The classes are always fun and challenging. I'm constantly learning new things, and it never feels boring. Once you experience this kind of interactive learning, it's hard to go back to studying only with textbooks. At first, textbook learning might feel enjoyable, but over time it becomes repetitive and less fulfilling.

Q5

What kind of teacher is Miyu?

A

Miyu is kind, funny, and very patient. I often get stuck with grammar or speaking, so those qualities are very important to me. She always adapts to my pace, and I genuinely look forward to the new challenges in every class.

Q6

What is your next goal?

A

I travel to Japan often, so I want to be able to communicate more naturally with local people. I would also like to read Japanese novels and watch Japanese movies and dramas without subtitles in the future.

Q7

Who would you recommend this school to?

A

I would recommend this school to anyone who wants to learn Japanese. I feel that this class suits me perfectly, and I believe many other students would feel the same. I truly recommend it.
